Amy M Lavine is the owner of SKETCH Hudson, an art supply and stationery store in Hudson, New York that has been thriving since it was opened in July 2012. Lavine has always viewed her business not just as an economic venture but also an opportunity to engage with her local community and provide support for arts education and other initiatives.
During her time as a small business owner and entrepreneur, Lavine has participated in and donated to various events such as the annual Belo-3rd Back to School Block Party. She was also involved in the Day of the Dead festivities hosted by the Hudson Opera House and Mexican Radio in 2012, which involved face painting and craft activities for kids during the day and a second face painting event and party for adults later that night. Amy M Lavine is also a supporter of Hudson Pride and the annual Hudson Pride Parade held every June, and she has worked with the local library to sell used art books at SKETCH on the library’s behalf.
“The best thing about being in this business is that I get to help people create things and make art,” Lavine says. “Part of supporting that creative spirit is contributing to the causes and events that bring the community together and inspire more artistic expression.”
SKETCH is located at 701 Warren Street in Hudson, New York. For more information contact Amy M Lavine at 518-828-9573 or online at [email protected].
